Neath Hunt Video gets hate comments

Hate comments posted on Neath Hunt Youtube video

The Youtube video we featured three days ago has resulted in several hate comments being posted on it, including one from America with the writer saying that nothing like that happens there.

Mike Davies, the cameraman and producer, who has been filming the annual event for many years, said he was shocked to see the hateful comments.

In reply to the comments, Mike explains that the hunt is doing nothing illegal as it just follows a false trail laid down by the organisers.  Mike says he is just the cameraman and the comments should not be directed at him.

Fox hunting with dogs was banned in 2004 amid complaints by animal welfare campaigners who argued it caused suffering to wild animals chased and killed by hounds. But the ban - which forbids the use of dogs to hunt foxes and other wild mammals in England and Wales - did not end traditional hunts with Neath being a typical example.

Hundreds of people turned up on Boxing Day to see the hunt take off from outside the Neath Castle Hotel where there were no objectors.
