Food Banks in NPT

It is rather sad that Food Banks are needed in this day and age, but having said that, we must praise those who organise them.

The NPT Newsroom gives the following information:

The food banks are based at Tabernacle Chapel (Cwmavon), Peniel Pentecostal Church, (Glynneath), Carmel Chapel, Riverside, (Port Talbot), Orchard Place Baptist Church, (Neath), The Pantry Pontardawe, (Alltwen, Trebanos, Rhos, Rhydryfro and Ynysmeudwy plus Tabernacle Chapel), Cwmtawe Action to Combat Hardship (Gurnos Chapel, Ystalyfera), Bethel Trust, Bethel Community Church, Sandfields Road, (Port Talbot), The Dulais Valley Food Bank (Seven Sisters RFC) and Canolfan Maerdy Food Hub (Tairgwaith).

The Neath Port Talbot food banks are very grateful for the contributions they have received from all over the county borough and are well stocked. However, some of the items local foodbanks are still in need of include:
• UHT long life milk
• sugar
• tinned rice pudding
• small jars coffee
• breakfast cereals
• jam
• peanut butter
• spreading margarine
• instant custard
• tinned meat

Donations can be dropped off at any of the foodbanks listed above. For opening times and addresses, please go to www.npt.gov.uk/foodbanks.
