Local plumber spots faulty workmanship
A local heating engineer spotted a central heating flu that was wrongly fitted and in time could damage the boiler.
The flu-pipe was sticking out too far as can be seen in this photo. The white part should not be visible. There have been cases where the metal pipe has deteriorated and allowed rainwater to enter the system damaging the boiler.
In this case, the engineer made the flu-pipe shorter.
