Saint Andrew

Our Chuirch is "The Parish Church of Saint Andrew", but I have not yet discovered why nor when it was dedicated so.

However, Saint Andrew - sometimes referred to as "Andrew the Apostle" - was known as Jesus's first disciple, and his recruitment is described in the Gospel of St. Matthew 10:2.

Curiously, the name "Andrew" is Greek, not Hebrew.

Place of burial: Church of the Holy Apostles, Istanbul, Turkey (Demolished 1461)
