Welcome to Selkirk Film Club
Who we are:
Founded in 2001 we are a local group of film lovers who get together, about once a month in the long cold nights of winter, to sit in a darkened room and watch really interesting films in the company of like-minded people.
What we do:
Club members can vote on a list of suggested films, which will form the basis for the upcoming season. From these votes a programme is arranged.
Why we do it:
The films we select are generally foreign or non-mainstream American or British films that we would otherwise not get the chance to see. Living in the Scottish Borders means it’s sometimes difficult to catch the more obscure releases and often involves long journeys; by bringing cinema into the local community we hope to be able to satisfy that need.
Where we do it:
Selkirk Parish Church hall (almost opposite the Victoria Halls) in High Street, Selkirk TD7 4JX
Who comes to the Film Club:
Membership is open to all, fees are decided annually and Day Membership is available to visitors. Usual age restrictions apply in accordance with film certification.
