Gellions - Wednesday night

by Julia Robinson - 16:27 on 12 August 2010

Went along to the Gellions last night - not for the first time admittedly, but it's been a while! My partner had a date so when my friend Hazel phoned to ask if I wanted to go for a drink with her, I thought 'well if he can have a date with another woman, so can I !!!!!!' (Don't worry, we dumped our dates and went home together at the end of the night.......)

I arrived just after half past nine and the place was absolutely heaving!!! Seems like word has spread about the Wednesday night ceilidh. Hazel and I did a fair bit of dancing, though we missed having our pal Laura along to keep us company. However we managed to get a few people up to join us and a good time was definitely had by all.......

We met up with my man and his friend Sonia - who is also a friend of mine by the way, though one or two people looked a bit confused when they walked in together - and we all stayed to the end, escaping quickly before we got roped in to helping strike the set. :-)

Kenny gave the girls a lift, but as I wasn't drinking last night, I managed to drive myself and Davie home at around 1am. (I was working this morning at 8am so really shouldn't have these midweek late nights, but, hey ho, I had a really good night so am not complaining about being tired today. It was well worth it! xx
