My Pictures are widely Collected and Exhibited including The National Trust, The Royal Navy and other notable corporate business as well as private collections.
I run painting courses and workshops, give talks on British Artists, Gallery Trips and painting Holidays.
My passion is drawing and painting, and I have a great pleasure in passing that passion on, to both the complete beginner or the more experienced artist!
I give one to one tuition, teaching adult learners for both South Devon College and Devon County Council, and these are for both accredited and non accredited courses.
British artists of the past are also my passion and I give interesting and lively talks on these subjects. All these talks are availabe to any group and for more information go to Talks available.
My style of painting is mostly detailed, and depicts the British Landscape and rural scene from the 1960's and 1970's.
These paintings show the various farming activities from ploughing to harvest, livestock, old farm buildings and cottages, the tasks I paint, more often than not, are done from my own experience.
It also includes my passion for field sports and wild life, which go hand in hand.
My experience in agriculture has been varied and has covered a wide range of intrests and activities.
It started in the mid 1960's as a pre college student on a 1000 acre mixed farm in west Herefordshire, and after college I worked with various 'on farm' practices including a general farm worker, shepherd, pigman and tractor driver.
After Oxford I was employed by various companies selling products from lime, minerals, animal feeds, animal health and a number of years selling tractors and farm equipment.
During the years in Goucestershire, while selling tractors etc I ran my own 30 sow pig unit, taking the progeny to cutter weight., and still found time to paint!
All this knowledge and experience seemed to me to be not only the basis to work on, but an ideal subject to record in paint, which I have been doing now for the last 15 years, living and working in the beautiful county of Devon.
