Be aware of the 'super-tides' in 2015

Members should be aware that 2015 will see the highest Spring tides in the UK for 18 years. Around the equinoxes on 20th March and 23rd September, it is reported that low tides will fall below LAT (lowest astronomical tides) and therefore reliance on charted depth (or air draught) could result in unfortunate surprises, especially if tides are simultaneously impacted by barometric pressure. So if sailing around the dates of these tidal extremes, have your tidal curves ready to hand and check actual depths against predictions. Waiting 18 years to re-float might be a little tedious!
