New Backwaters light, Mistley Quay, updated Log
Should anyone be navigating the Backwaters at night, note that the No.10 buoy, ‘Baines’, on Hamford Water at the junction with the Walton Channel, has been lit, Q.R.
Mistley Quay - this may not come as news to some of you but evidently Mistley Quay has been closed to small craft since 2008. Evidently there is a planning dispute regarding its use; campaigners have recently secured its status as a 'village green' but the developers are planning to appeal (link to story below)
The log has been updated with a brief report on a weekend last month on which David W was thwarted by the tailend of hurricane Bertha.
