Birsay are through to the semis
01 February 2010

Birsay made their first appearance in the Parish Cup against St.Andrews on Saturday night and after a very close tie they proceeded to knock the East Mainland team out after the play-off leg.

An experienced Birsay team ended the first half 5-4 up and with two games remaining held a 9-7 lead. St.Andrews didn't give up though and wins for their skipper Fraser Laird and Colin Kirkpatrick set up a dramatic finale in the way of the 1001 play-off leg and it was Birsay that held their nerve to win through to the semi-final.

There was a 180 from Colin Kirkpatrick and his St.Andrews captain Fraser Laird had a 105 checkout. Birsay's Keith Johnston had a 100 finish.

The draw will take place on Wednesday 3rd February ay 6.30pm with a representative from all four parishes in attendance.
