Over the weekend information about the Parish Cup has been sent to the Barony in Birsay, Sands in Burray, Pomona in Finstown, Standing Stones in Stenness, Merkister in Harray, Commodore in Holm, The Noust in Orphir, Quoyburray in Tankerness, Smithfield in Dounby, Murray Arms in the ‘Hope and also Deerness, Eday and Evie have also been contacted. Tomorrow there will be info sent out to Shapinsay, Flotta, The Royal Hotel in Longope, Taversoe in Rousay, Kettletoft in Sanday and Pierowall Hotel in Westray and The Stronsay Hotel.

So far nine Parishes have expressed an interest with five of those saying they will definitely be entering a team.

Some questions have been asked already so there are twa three points that need clarifying:

• The competition is open to anyone. That means men or ladies can play and you do not need to be a member of any league to play.

• Only one team per parish can be entered.

• Obviously some parishes don’t have a pub so arrangements will have to be made as to where their matches will be played.
