Parish Cup Entries required by 29th October

Entries are invited to compete in the inaugural Orkney Darts Association Parish Cup which is open to anyone. Parishes are requested to have their entry to Bruce Moar, 21 Royal Oak Road, Kirkwall by 6pm on Thursday 29th October along with the initial Parish registration fee of £25. This one off registration fee has to be paid before any parish will be allowed to enter the competition. Contact details of each of the parish’s team captains are also required. The first round of the competition will take place on Sunday 29th November.

The basic rules are each match will be three doubles and six singles played twice through. Each game will be best of three legs of 501. Each round will be played over one match only with the first team drawn getting the home advantage. In the event of a draw there will be one leg of 1001 played for by a nominated team of six players to decide the victors. The criteria for qualification is either born in the parish, reside in the parish or your mother’s usual residence on your birth certificate. If a player doesn’t reside in the parish then proof of eligibility is required. ie a copy of the birth certificate. The full rules can be viewed here
 
At the moment the venue of the final is still to be decided. Anyone, particularly any of the Parish Pubs, interested in exclusively sponsoring the Inaugural Parish Cup is welcome to get in touch. Equally anyone wanting to make a donation towards purchasing a new trophy is also welcome to get in touch. We look forward to hearing from you!

The objective of the Orkney Darts Association is to help improve the overall standard of darts being played in Orkney, and through the Singles League and Parish Cup provide a platform that will hopefully attract more players into the Kirkwall & District Darts League and the West Mainland Darts Association.
