NEWS & PICTURES !NORTH KESSOCK WRI 70th BIRTHDAY PARTY 01 November 2007 Report by Carol Adams, Press SecrearyNorth Kessock W.R.I. celebrated it's 70th Anniversary on 13th November 2007 in North Kessock Primary School. Our President, Rachael Fairrie, welcomed several past Presidents, members, and guests and asked them to join in the festivities. After forthcoming business was discussed, Kate MacDonald was asked to say Grace. We were delighted to have Agnes Matheson and Mhairi Beaton with us on the night as they have been members for over 50 years and are Honorary Presidents. We all thoroughly enjoyed a fantastic buffet and as everyone was wearing handmade tiaras for this special occasion, much hilarity was heard when the Photographer arrived to take photographs. Our President, and past Presidents stood around to cut the cake which was baked beautifully by Alice, and decorated by Chrissie. The fun really started as some members now took to the stage to entertain everyone. After many rehearsals and lots of laughter, everyone performing agreed that it really had been a great way to celebrate our 70th Anniversary. A raffle was then held and Mrs Rosemary Dolby, a past President, thanked us all for a delightful evening. Mary Machlin, Federation President, gave her vote of thanks. Kate MacDonald and Diana Reid brought our evening to a close in leading the singing of the W.R.I. song.Presidents cutting the cake

RURALOLYMPICS at FOOTBALL ACADEMY, DINGWALL 05 September 2007 North Kessock WRI took part in the Rural Olympics at the Football Academy, Dingwall on Saturday 5th September. Two teams were entered - the Kessock Her-rings, and the Silver Darlings. The various games were great fun, eg Beat the Goalie, Hoopla, Netball, etc. The ladies were delighted when the team name Silver Darlings was voted the "best name", and medals were kindly awarded to that team by the Football Academy. It was a very enjoyable day with an opportunity to meet other WRI ladies from all over Ross-shire.
