Dr Dai Lloyd AM writes about FREE Christmas Parking in Neath

In a letter on our READERS LETTERS page Dr Dai Lloyd AM writes:

" I am pleased to see that Neath Port Talbot Council has made use of extra funding secured by Plaid Cymru through our budget deal with the Welsh Government. The extra money for Councils across Wales to implement these initiatives is only available thanks to Plaid Cymru fighting for a fairer deal for local authorities."

A report from the NPT Council website states:

"To help increase trade, councilors are being asked to approve plans to give free Christmas parking in Neath, Port Talbot and Pontardawe Pay and Display Car Parks from Saturday, 15th December 2018 to Tuesday, 1st January 2019 inclusive.

This year’s proposed offer is an improvement on last year’s offer, including an extra weekend at the start of the free parking period.

Free Christmas parking is estimated to cost around £40,000 for the three towns, based upon the current tariff structure which has to be absorbed by the Council."
