Thousands of shoppers ignore towns and shop at retail parks that have free car parking

The result is that high street shops are closing and town centres are no longer attractive for shoppers who have to pay to park their cars.

It is not just the Internet thats to blame - its car parking and the time limits.

Shoppers do not want carry their shopping to their cars when they can use a trolley at a retail park.

In future, only special events, like trade fairs and entertainment, will attract  people to town and city centres - and the sooner councils realise this the better.
