Reader thanks councillor for a help and rescue aid

A reader says Cllr Chris Williams (Bryncoch South) deserves a word of thanks in establishing a home rescue service - a service for lifting non-injured persons who have fallen or slipped at home.

The Fire Service & Rescue service can provide help and can relieve the Ambulance service where no medical attention is required.

Calls should be made via the 999 service who will arrange the appropriate aid.

Cllr Chris Williams dealt with the matter after an elderly resident aged 83 was on the floor at her home for 5 hours waiting for an ambulance crew to lift her.
