Remember the Picture Post?

Picture Post was a prominent photojournalistic magazine published in the United Kingdom from 1938 to 1957. It is considered a pioneering example of photojournalism and was an immediate success, selling 1,700,000 copies a week after only two months. It has been called the Life magazine of the United Kingdom.*

We now find that this famous title has been 'captured' by a sex site - as detailed below.

Now PICTURE POST is degraded as a domain name:

We have no wish to advertise the website we refer to and certainly do NOT endorse it.   We mention it to illustrate how standards have dropped and how someone has taken advantage of a once famous name.  This is just one of many cases of abuse by sex sites and that something should be done about it.

Remember the golden days of the cinema and the British Board of Film Censors?  It would appear that a similar body should monitor the Internet and that a classification system should exist just as it did (does?) for films.    Let's have a freedom of choice - but with a degree of decency.
