Bus service from Briton Ferry to Skewen

The transport link from Briton Ferry to Skewen was established in Victorian times and a tram powered by town gas ran from Villiers Street, Briton Ferry, to the White Gates in Skewen until it was replaced by motor transport.   A photo of an early bus (pictured), sent in by a reader, has now been included in the 'History of Neath' which is on the menu of the Neath Guardian website.

In the new year the Neath Guardian website will be going back in time and will be featuring many photographs from by-gone days.  Readers are invited to send copies of prints that they may have tucked away in drawers so that a record can be made of what many call the good old days.
