NPT CBC to spend over £20,000 for councillors iPhones and iPads 
Every NPT CBC Councillor is to given the choice of an iPhone or an iPad to bring them into the digital age.  The long term plan is to effectively save the amount of paper work used and make communications with councillors more environmentally friendly.

This is a positive move forward - providing councillors will be shown how to use them as they should be used.  Currently some councillors have difficulty in receiving and sending emails.   Many residents think that no-one should be elected as a councillor unless they have basic IT knowledge.

We assume that the iPhones and iPads will be on loan to councillors for their term of office and will be returned to the council for use by newly elected councillors.

Residents will now expect their councillors to repond and act quicker with the new devices.

Council Weeds  On the subject of weeds, we understand the council workforce has been cut by half and that the Jersey Marine area has been added to their work load.   This means more work with half the number of workmen.
