Drug alert at market

Drug Users Using Neath Market Toilets

One of our uncover reporters has been talking to Neath Market traders who have reported drug users using the public toilets inside the building.   One stall holder that police were keeping a secret watch from her stall - it is that serious.

Market traders in general are unhappy about trading conditions and allege that the council seem to be not interested in the matter.   Several of the stall holders are thinking of packing it in and calling it a day - maybe then the council will take notice, they said.
A market traders consortium is being considered and the traders are looking for support from certain councillors.

Neath is being neglected

An interview with a councillor, who does not want his name mentioned, says that certain council officials are favouring Port Talbot over the town of Neath, which has a larger population.  Some recent events held at Margam Park could have been held in the Gnoll grounds, he claims.

An observant reader has told us that most of the NPT Mayor's engagements (listed on the NPT CBC website, among others) are in Port Talbot - this seems to endorse the claim that Neath is being neglected.  When the Mayor Cllr Martyn Peters was asked to comment on this, he said all his engagements are arranged for him by the Mayoral office.
