It's sad, sad, sad

It is more than sad

A council meeting, barely three lines of text, a short 'sell' and recommendation by Geoff White (Head of Planning), a vote to approve and then, almost before you know it (but after council elections) you have got this:-

Neath town centre has no community hall, no youth centre and no-where for youngsters to go.    Does anyone care?

Were local operatic societies and theatre groups approached and given the chance to get together and aquire this bulding?  If they were, and if they had a heritage grant then it would have been a different tale.    Do you know that a local theatre group has to go out of town to do its production because the hiring charge for the Gwyn Hall is too high?
Do you know that Coastal Housing had a grant to DEMOLISH it to build 12 flats?
Yes, it's sad - in fact, a crying shame!    And what is more, it makes people feel sick.
