Community Balance

Things are looking up in Blaenhonddan

The Neath Ferret has often compared Blaenhonddan Community Council with its neighbour - Dyffryn Clydach Community Council.   Now we try to address the balance with this report from Cllr Janice Dudley:-

"I wish to notify the public that there is a new Plaid Cymru led Community Council in Blaenhonddan, they are working hard as a team and although only in office for Six weeks they have achieved lots.

It has been passed that a new park is to be erected at Bryncoch North by March of next year god willing, a representative has been given the task of raising the capital required, there will be a rolling program throughout the Six Communities in place over the next few years.

Last Friday a Blue light disco was organised in partnership with the Police and the Community Councillors, funded by Silver Seal, held at Cae wern Community Hall for Children Six to Twelve years, It was a brilliant success with around Sixty Children in attendance, I wish to thank all who helped make it such a success, the Children had fun but so did we.

We hope to hold an Olympic Fun Day soon at the Owain Glyndwr Community Centre and Field behind, a Committee has been formed and we hope that we will have the support from the local residents to help bring this community together over the Olympic season, the new Councillors are full of enthusiasm to do their very best for the Community. WATCH OUT FOR MORE DETAILS SOON.

A new website has also been passed through Council tonight and therefore the wheels are in motion, we will  be able to once more Communicate through the Blaenhonddan Community Council Website.

Blaenhonddan Community Council have provided the Police with £100 to hold another Disco for Twelve to Sixteen year olds in another area of the Community in conjunction with the Police, date to be arranged by our local PCSO's Cerys and Sally.

Our aim is to put back in to our Community and work together to achieve this."

We think it fair to report this news in view of the council's past record.

This and other reports appear on Cllr. Janice Dudley's website.
