Car not for sale

Exclusive Report

Empire car to be refurbished!

We can reveal that we spoke to the owner of this car when we were invited to view the interior of the Neath Empire along with a group of heritage enthusiasts.  The visit was kindly arranged by the Empire's new owners - Coastal Housing.

The car owner said she put the car there to stop others parking on the spot.   When asked if it was up for sale, the reply was that she was going to get it refurbished - she did not say when.

The Empire visit was interesting and revealed its tremendous potential.   However, it seems that the management of Coastal Housing have made up their minds and the building will be replaced social houses at street level.   They were reminded about Swansea's regret in losing the Mumbles Railway - regret that sufaced years later.  When this building is gone - it will be gone forever.

As far as the car is concerned, it seems that the occupants of the new houses will have to tolerate the car for quite some time - it has already been there for over four years!

Ed Note.... The feeling for the Empire building is far greater than the Windsor (Talk of the Abbey) - now a block of flats.   It is also far greater than the council (and the owners) realise.  Our investigations reveal that the demolition of this building will have serious long-lasting effects on politics in Neath.
