It's the semi-final of a European Championship. There's only three minutes left of normal time and the score is locked at 2-2. Suddenly you're put through on goal with the 'keeper bearing down on you. What do you do?

"Panic," said Scott Curley, the England midfielder who found himself in that very situation on Wednesday night, when the Three Lions' Learning Disability team faced Poland for a place in the final of the INAS-FID European Championships.

"Believe it or not, it's actually a finish I practice in training and I've been practising it with my daughter all week," he laughed.

It was this goal that completed a brave England revival after being two goals down and seemingly facing semi-final heartache. But for Scott, this late winner had an even more poignant significance.

"I really shouldn't have been playing in this tournament," he said.

"Two years ago I fractured my spine in two places and I was told that I'd never play again.

The crowd at Boundary Park were treated to an entertaining match (www.kipax.com)."I've been extremely lucky to continue with my football and to be playing for England, scoring the winner in a semi-final is just incredible."

With reigning European champions, Holland, awaiting them in the final, Scott knows England must eliminate the defensive errors that could have cost them dearly.

"We've got a few things to work on, we know that. We gave two goals away from two silly errors and we can't do that against Holland," he said.

"But coming from 2-0 down, we showed great character and we're all looking forward to the final.

"Alan Gillett, Lyndon Lynch and Jeff Davis have done really well getting all the squad together. Some of us have got family commitments, which means we've missed certain games, but pulling on an England shirt is a real honour and I can't wait for Saturday now."

Saturday's final will be held at Boundary Park and admission is free of charge so go along and help cheer England to Euro glory.
