Kirkcaldy Albion - 14/04/10

It was a beautiful summers evening in the Lang Toun.  The grass on the way up to the pitch was really soft and taking a stud but when we got on the pitch it was hard, we have great chat.

So the team fannied around for a bit hitting shots and taking the pish.  Col had a few glorious overheadmisses.  Kirk belted one into the top corner, an absolute peach hitting the underside of the bar,  remember this now.

The game got underway with the Corn dominating play, passing it about like the Arsenal of the north that are Hibernian (pfffft Fibernian).  A joy to behold.  We had a few chances but they didnt quite come off due to the bobbly pitch and maybe the sun in the eyes.

Willie opened the scoring with a great run through and lob over the keeper. I think skelf slipped it through.  We quickly went 2 then 3 nil up, Willie and Skelf scoring respectively.  Skelf placed the ball nicley past the keeper into the far bottom right corner after some good play.  They managed to pull one back before half time through a mix up at the back, no names Davie and Baz..  Bobbly pitch.  Willie went on to show good skill and technique to make it 4-1.  Tam played a great backheel to start a move for one of the earlier goals but i cant remember which one.

Its fair to say Sticks was having a quiet day but did anything asked of him well especially with the low sun in the first half.  James, Davie and Baz coped well with the poor pich and were always in control apart from one or two moments. Always looking to play football where possible and sometimes not. haha

Pedro Johnston then made it 5-1 getting up well to head in from a corner and thats how it ended at half time.  Suddenly he became an attacking wing back but fair play he had a few good runs and linked up well with midfield.

Jonesy came on for Baz with about 10 minutes into the first half and was assured playin a nice ball in to Willie from the middle of the park but nothing came of it.

Willie was having a field day and made it 6-1 in the second half, I cant remember the goal to be honest, a Miki cut back?  Kirk wasnt er... happy about Miki's reluctance to square the ball to him on a few occasions.  After some good play in midfield the ball got up to Kirk who controlled, turned and lashed the ball into the top right hand corner of the goal.  Their keeper was nowhere.  I think we have Miki to thank for that one, maybe go down as an assist....Miki was getting alot of joy down the right and with a better surface would have had more luck. 7-1.

Col then came on around the 70th minute mark for Tam and will be kicking himself for the chance he put wide but he got about well and got stuck in.

Just when I thought it couldnt get any more like a top 4 premiership display, Skelf delivered a great ball to the edge of the box from a corner where  Hampton anticipated the cross volleying it towards the goal ala the ginger prince that is Scholesy.... but it took a deflection so its an own goal in my opinion.  8-1.  Nah a brilliant goal and contender for goal of the season along with Kirky's.

Kirk had the final word for us making it 9-1 gettin on to the end of a shot going wide of the goals to slide the ball into the net.

Unfortunately we then lost a sloppy 2nd goal for the game to end 9-2. came on and

Well done boys! I thought everyone played well on what was a dodgy pitch.  Some nice football played and good to see we turned up this time.

I forgot to mention, a few boys were megged tonight but none more spectacularly than Willie, who fell like he was rugby tackling the boy.  even their team were pishing themselves.

Oh aye and Skelf, can you teach me how to bend my knees like that, uhuh vivaaaa las vegas!
