Hello Fred Elder

This is just to tell you that a large number of Danish yachts have visited the west coast this summer. I have had mails from our members (DOCA - Danish Ocean Cruising Association) that they appreciated their visits to Gairloch a lot. Unfortunately none of them succeeded in making contact to your boat club.
Personally I changed crew i Gairloch before going on to the Orkneys.

This is just to tell you, that we enjoyed our visit to the loch. Even in a sunny week.

Kind regards
Karsten Pennov
Commodore / DOCA

Your Regatta
Many thanks for yet another friendly and superbly organised Regatta. (Sorry I couldn't make it on Saturday night -- but the relaxing Pint at the "Myrtle bank" made up for it on Sunday afternoon.) Looking forward to next year already.

Best wishes, Dave Murray (Lochcarron SC.)

Sail Heb
Hello… at the Sail Hebrides AGM there was a change of officers… somehow or other I have ended up being elected as Chairman.

I am hopping to expand on the Sail Hebrides activities and looking to make links with local (relatively speaking) boat and sailing clubs, with a view to try to muster a few boats to sail in company from Stornoway to far and exotic locations…

Obviously this will be later in 2010… If you have any activities that you feel would be of interest please let me know and I will try and promote interest here in Stornoway.

We the new officers and committee are hoping that if we can make it to a few mainland events, then maybe we will see some additional support for the Sail Hebrides festal week.

We are planning for the year and festival and out initial dates for the festival week are from the Saturday 10th through to Saturday 17th July 2010.

The Celtic festival runs from the 14th to 17th. We hope to have our main events the days leading up to the Celtic festival so that members can also take part in the Celtic daytime events.
