Forth Pummel Glenorchy
20 June 2008

Forth picked up their first points of the season in style with a 7-0 victory against Glenorchy at Dalmally.

Forth applied early pressure but the scoresheet remained blank for 10 minutes until Jenny Durkin's corner  bounced past the home keeper and into the net for an amazing start.  A shot from Ruth “Stacey” Bordoli doubled Forth’s lead, but shortly afterwards she was forced to leave the field with a neck injury.  The pace of the game slowed, allowing Glenorchy to launch some attacks, but solid defence from Forth kept the hosts out.
At the other end, after having a number of shots saved by the Glenorchy keeper's quick footwork, Fiona Mackintosh converted from close range to make it 3-0 before the break.

Forth maintained their momentum in the second half and a high ball from Jenny Durkin was deflected off Glenorchy defender Joy Elliott's stick before being steered in by Fiona Mackintosh.  Ruth Bordoli returned to the pitch in fine style by putting in another strong shot from the right to make it 5-0.  Forth capitalised on Glenorchy being reduced to nine players by injury when Jenny Durkin played in a long ball from left midfield, which dipped in just under the bar; and the scoring was completed with a low drive from Lysa Coburn after a mazy run up the right wing.
