Forth win against Linlithgow
18 August 2010

Forth faced Linlithgow in a novel mid-week tie and took the opportunity to try out some new combinations in the foraward line in advance of the upcoming cup final.  This meant Diane Stevenson-Moore made her debut and Leigh Fell and Linda Corcoran and Mairi Lawson got to hone her managerial skills!

Forth had the majority of the possession in the first half, with Katy Smith, Jenny Durkin and Ruth Bordoli in midfield creating plenty of scoring chances for the experimental forward line ups.  Unfortunately the ball just wouldn't go into the net for Forth and it took until near the end of the half for Katy Smith to break the deadlock.

In the second half Forth again had the majority of the possession and Linlithgow's few ventures into Forth's half were repeatedly foiled by saves from Rudra Kapila and excellent clearances from Úna Henry and the returned Jen Smith.  Again the new forwards were finding it hard to get the ball across the line but Leigh Fell beat the goalie with an excellent goal to put more distance between Forth and Linlithgow.  Forth weren't able to find another score before the whistle but they'd done enough to secure a win.

Final score: Forth 2 - Linlithgow 0

Man of the match: Úna Henry
