Friendly vs Linlithgow
15 March 2009

Forth made the short trip to Linlithgow to stretch the shinty muscles in a friendly before the start of the league.  Forth piled on the pressure right from the start, with the most of the play going on in the Linlithgow wnd of the pitch.  Few balls made it past midfield, where Ratchel Miller was having a stormer.  Goals were hard to come by though but eventually the persistence paid off when Úna Henry stuck a powerful ball right in the back of the net.  Forth continued to dominate for the rest of the first half but failed to convert any more scoring opportunities before the whistle.

After the break Forth came out determined to reasert their dominance again but Linlithgow were not prepared to let them have it their own way.  There was a lucky goal for Forth when a shot from the Linlithgow goalie went astray and was rebounded into the net.  Caitriona Mulkerins was unlucky to hae an excellent goal disallowed for offside.  Linlithgow mananged to get one past Mickie Imrie and shortly after converted a corner into another score.  Forth didn't allow a repeat however and Jen Smith's clearances denied them any more goals before the final whistle.

Final score:  Forth 2 - Linlithgow 2
