Cowal Dog Training Club was established in 1985
We have a team of experienced trainers including a Kennel Club Accredited Instructor (KCAI)
Classes for all ages, abilities and breed types
Fully insured
FEES FOR EACH 8 WEEK BLOCK: PUPPY CLASSES £60, ALL OTHER CLASSES £40
All our trainers are volunteers to keep our fees as low as possible.
Classes include Kennel Club Good Citizen at all levels from Puppy to Gold.
Guest trainers for agility, scenting and Rally.
One to one consultations available.

Thank you to all of our supporters over this last year - we have thoroughly enjoyed the classes. The next registration date is Monday 6th January 2025 at 1800hrs in the hall - please ensure you bring your vaccination certificates but do not bring your pooches! The next training courses will begin on the week commencing Monday 13th Janury 2025. Thank you again for your support of the Cowl Dog Training Club.

Two of our trainers were delighted to have been invited to attend the King’s Royal Garden Party in Holyrood in July 2024. This was due to their work with the Cowal Dog Training Club and as you can see in the photo, they had a thoroughly enjoyable day out.

Cowal Dog Training Club will hold its AGM on Wednesday 25th October at 1900hrs in the Dog Training Club hall.

Cowal Dog Training Club held its annual dog show on Saturday 19th August. The judge was Rachell Milne from Fife, ably assisted by stewards Sheila Gray and Jo McDill. There were dogs of all shapes, sizes, ages and breeds entered and everyone, both canine and human appeared to enjoy their day with a very sporting atmosphere. Thanks to the hard working committee for scrummy baking and a magnificent tombola and raffle. Thanks also to Croots at Sandbank Marina and all the local businesses for their generous donations of prizes.

Update as at 20th December 2022: Thank you to all our supporters this year - it has been another amazing year of seeing dogs (and their trainers) improve and benefit from our training. Thank you. The next registration for the first course of 2023 is Monday 9th January 2023, as usual from 1800hrs at the hall, but with no dogs. Please bring cash. The courses will commence the following week. In the interim - wishing you and your pooches a very merry Christmas and happy and healthy New Year.

Update as at 20th September 2022: Thank you to everyone who turned up for the Companion Dog Show, held at the club on Saturday 10th September 2022. What a great day it was. There were some amazing dogs there and lots of tea and cake. Thank you to the Judge Jackie Pritchard from Fife, and her assistants Esther Hitchcok and Sheila Gray. The best in show was Lulu, a Scottish Terrier, with her owner Sue. The reserve best in show was Bailey, a Springer spaniel, with his owner Julie. The best puppy in show was Manuka, a Tibetan terrier, with her owner Marion. And the best junior handler was Rhiannon with her pooch Tonka. There a few pictures below.

COURSES:
The next block of courses has already commenced during the week of Monday 22nd August 2022. The new course will run for 8 weeks. The next Registration evening will be on Monday 17th October 2022, from 1800hrs to 1900hrs. Courses will commence during the week beginning 24th October. That course will also run for 8 weeks, and finish during the week of 13th December 2022.

Update as at 7th March 2022: The current courses finish this week. Our next Registration evening will be on Monday 21st March 2022 from 1800 to 1900hrs. The new course will run for 9 weeks but there will be a break on Easter Monday. Please ensure you turn up to register your interest. Thank you for your continued support.

Update as at 29th November 2021: Current Classes are due to end the week beginning 6th December 2021. If you want to Register for the new term in January 2022, you will need to do so in person on Monday 10th January 2022 from 1800hrs to 1900hrs in the Hall. You will need to bring cash, your completed registration document PLUS proof of vaccination. Classes will begin the following week from Monday 17th January 2022. Classes may start at 1700hrs depending upon numbers registered. Fees remain £60 for puppy classes, and £40 for all other courses.
