FOREWORD

A VOYAGE OF COMRADESHIP

THIS is the Record of a Cruise, noteworthy as the first, of our "Argosy of Peace," a vessel manned by leaders of both the Scouts and Guides.
It carried us to foreign lands, and there exchanged its cargo of Love.
It brought its Merry Company a great return in Happiness for time well spent in Service to our cause, and gave them the desire for further adventure of the kind.
To those who sailed, this Log will bring back happy memories, while to our kindly hosts abroad it will speak our heartfelt gratitude.
To those who could not take this cruise, it will supply desire to join the next, and so bring them, in their turn, the chance to serve this cause of LOVE ON EARTH AND PEACE AMONG ALL MEN.

Olave Baden-Powell                   Baden-Powell of Gilwell

      Chief Guide                                  Chief Scout
