DIY Stereo

This will have to do until I get some more time, and a bit more familiar with this website (which is actually SUPER EASY. I'm a total computer newb).

Here is a thread where I modify an old FullRange driver by removing the stock treated paper surround. I upgraded to a foam surround which is more compliant and has better damping characteristics.

While I was at it, I damped the basket legs and any reflective surfaces.

Stock CalRad CR-12A Stock CalRad CR-12A Fullrange driver.	Modified CalRad driver CalRad CR-12A modified with inverted foam surround instead of the stock pleated paper , basket legs filled w/fibreglass and wrapped with grill cloth, felt/cloth carpet padding ring around perimeter of spider, cork mounting gasket, no dustcap, whizzer damped with 3 "glue dots"(craft supply) placed at 1/3rd increments axially and radially, rear badge replaced with grill cloth.
