Terms and Conditions - General

All clients will be deemed to have accepted Best Paw Forward terms and conditions (as laid out here).

Full payment for services is to be made within 7 days of notification (normally the end of the month for regular jobs, or after the job if it is a one-off) or by the date specified on the invoice via  bank transfer. If payment is not made within this time 2.5% of the total bill will be added for each day that payment is overdue.

Cancellations - for cancellations we require 24 hours notice minimum. If the required notice is not given then charges will be applied in full. The booking cannot be transferred to a different day. If you would like to re-arrange the time of the walk for the same day we will try and help, but if we cannot then then the charge will be due in full.

The client must provide all items necessary for pets to be adequately cared for in the client's absence. (i.e., food, medication, cat litter etc). Should pets require any additional supplies whilst in the care of Best Paw Forward, these will be purchased and added to the bill.

The client will supply suitable collars or harnesses and leads [and when necessary muzzles] for the dog and any coats or other accessories which the customer wishes to be used. Best Paw Forward will be entitled to refuse to walk the dog if a suitable collar or harness and lead [and muzzle if needed] is not provided and to be paid in full as though that walk had taken place. Please leave a towel out if you would like your dog(s) dried.

The client will either ensure that access is given to Best Paw Forward to collect the dog from the agreed address at the agreed times or give Best Paw Forward a key to the place where the dog is kept. Best Paw Forward will use the key to collect and return the dog and for no other purpose and will keep it safe, not let anyone else have it, and will return it to the customer on demand.
If it is necessary for keys to be picked up or dropped off in order to complete an assignment charges will be applied for each trip.

The client must provide Best Paw Forward with the name and contact number of someone capable of making a decision relating to the pet(s) in an emergency. If the contact is not available Best Paw Forward reserves the right to consult with a veterinary surgeon and then let the vet make a decision which is in the best interests of the animal.

The client is responsible for any veterinary bills, no matter how they are incurred, whilst pets are in the care of Best Paw Forward.

The Client will provide Best Paw Forward with details of the dog’s inoculations (we recommend kennel cough vaccination which is in addition to the regular yearly vaccinations).

The Client will fully inform Best Paw Forward of any characteristics of the dog which needs to be known for handling and care of the dog.

Best Paw Forward must be alerted to any behavioural problems with their pets at the time of booking.

Although Best Paw Forward holds Public Liability insurance, wherever possible we recommend that pets should be insured by the client.

Best Paw Forward will care for your animal as you would, and whilst we will make every effort to ensure your pet is well looked after in your absence, Best Paw Forward cannot be held liable for any loss, injury or death to a pet either inside or outside of the home whilst in our care.

Best Paw Forward reserves the right to cancel at any time & with immediate effect if the dog does not respond well to the walker and/or other dogs. We want everyone's dogs to be safe and happy and should any dog display behaviour that is unwelcome Best Paw Forward may decline certain or all services.

All dogs will be exercised on a lead unless prior agreement has been reached with Best Paw Forward.

The walker will apply personal judgment and cut short a walk if necessary because of extreme weather conditions (i.e., heat, thunder storms, high wind warning) for the safety of both the dogs and the walker.

Best Paw Forward reserves the right to walk other dogs at the same time on group walks, but the total number of dogs walked with one person at one time will not exceed 3.

Best Paw Forward will provide this service personally, either Julie or Terry, no-one else ever walks dogs in our care.

Best Paw Forward is not responsible for feeding or watering the dog unless otherwise contractually agreed, we are happy to help out with this by arrangement.

Charges are at the rates listed by Best Paw Forward.

Best Paw Forward will inform the customer of any incident or anything which Best Paw Forward notices about the dog, which as dog owners the customer would need to know.

Best Paw Forward will take care, so far as is practicable, that the dog is not a nuisance or danger to any one, or any other animals, and that no harm comes to it.

Best Paw Forward will supply biodegradeable waste bags and use them on all walks to remove the dog’s waste from any public or private place.

Best Paw Forward will make adequate steps to ensure your home is safe and secure in your absence; however Best Paw Forward cannot be held responsible for any burglaries, nor for any accidents caused by your pet(s), or loss or damaged caused by occupants of your home or visitors to it.
