Summerlee
14 June 2015

For the second year running we flew the flag for 16mm at the Friends of Summerlee Model Railway show. An Industrial Heritage Museum is an interesting, if rather noisy place to exhibit. We squeezed in between the columns and roundly cursed the interactive sound Blast Furnace opposite.

There was an overhead walkway above our pitch which gave a different view of proceedings.

We were joined for Saturday by David H of the East of Scotland Group, who brought a gift of some of his packing cases with Glendreich lettering, a very handsome addition to our scenery.

Chris C also brought some new wagons, built to fit in with the Distillery theme. These included a bogie cask carrier.

Lumpy Tom got a good work out, trundling steadily round the circuit. Thank you Roy for the loan.

There were some interesting exhibits around the show and the museum site. At least one member to the opportunity to go for a tram ride.

Two day shows can be quite taxing and we were lucky enough to ha ve a bit of space and some seats for the all importanat R&R.

Overall we felt the show was rather better attended than last year.  It was satisfying to be able to provide entertainment to small boys of all ages.

And girls.

We didn't win the prize but we did sign up for next year's show.
