Glendreich at the Greenock Show
19 October 2014

For the second year running we took Glendreich to the Greenock club's show at the Lyle Kirk Hall.  Although we were in one of the rear halls we were immediately adjacent to the refreshment stand and had a steady flow of visitors over the two days. Here we see the Skipper casting a critical eye over things as he completes the pre-opening inspection on Saturday morning.

As well as the full 12' x 6 ' expanse of Glendreich we had a small static display to one side, which allowed some larger stock to be exhibited.

Ian McG's 'The Duke' prepares to deal with a Heilan Coo.

Ian W's delightfully dainty scratchbuilt 'Britomart' glides through Glendreich with a short goods. On the left is Andrew M's meths -fired Mamod.

One for the Heritage buffs. Dave W's vintage Friog with a rake of homebuilt peat wagons.

Sunday saw the arrival of reinforcements in the form of Chris C and his Regner Lumberjack.

As always Exhibitions require a little crowd pleaser.  Here we see our Guest Wizard indulging in a little door riding. The coach was built in Calcutta and is loosely based on an East India Railway 2' 6" gauge prototype.

Not all of the visiting enthusiasts were bewitched by Hogwarts. Here Ian W puts his prize winning WD Hunslet 4-6-0T through its paces on the rolling road.

We may have found a couple of new group members over the weekend and also received an invitation to another show in the West Scotland for May 2015. Watch this space!
