Glendriech made its debut at a serious model railway show this weekend. Despite a minor hiccup over locations on the part of a few members we were all set up and had a loco on the boil by 10 a.m. when the public were admitted.

We were happy with the appearance of the layout even if prolonged scrutiny highlighted one or two things that need a little attention. The space we were given allowed us to put up a static display as well as a rolling road to allow some of the bigger locos to be put through their paces.

Our stand was next to the buffet counter which ensured a steady flow of visitors. We were a ble to run a variety of steam locos interspersed with the diesel outline battery powered variety.
Our exhibit seemed to catch the attention of young and old alike. Andrew had great fun putting together lengthy trains using up all of the available stock. The record was 23 wagons. Lumpy Tom , kindly loaned by Roy K, proved to be the ideal motive power for exhibition work. We timed one fill of gas to last  nearly an hour.We have been asked back for next year so we must have made a reasonably positive impression.
