Mid-week special
13 August 2013

Test of 'free-running' engines at Southbeech to see how they handle the gradients. Surprisingly all went smoothly with no runaways on the main line, only the incline down from the steaming bay giving any excitement! Clockwise running was found to be more sedate. ie, the short steep section was easier to handle going down rather than up. Oscillators didn't give a bu**er which way thay ran.
