Outing to Balliebeag
06 May 2012

We had our first WOSG Lochs & Glens tour of 2012 this Sunday. The weather was generally kind but there was a report of snow on the Rest & Be Thankfull! After all it is only May.

True to recent form there was a good attendance and a total of nine locos were steamed. The view of Loch Fyne in the background goes part of the way to explaining why we all look forward to this trip.

There was a further chance to see Ian W's Cegin and Lilla, Tom ran his Accucraft Edrig, Dave W brought along his Roundhouse Darjeeling and a Mamod, Fraser ran Tinkerbelle and Bob gave a rare outing to his Lady Anne as well as demonstrating how well his Brazil could run on home turf and letting Ramrod the Mamod loose as a finale.

There were no major mishaps. Tinkerbelle survived the experiment in waterless running.

Isaac R seemed to enjoy the outing. Seen here passing Balliebeag Station with the legendary photo backscene behind. Spot the join.

Bob and Christine's garden looked splendidly scenic as usual. Here's that Darjeeling B (again)  as an excuse to show a picture of the pond and the bridge.

Promise you won't tell Bob but the real reason that we all like going to his place is for Christine's excellent lunch. Egg sandwiches and chocolate cake to die for. Thanks very much to both of you for a splendid day out.
