May Day in remote Argyll 01 May 2011 Our first outing in May saw us making our way over the sea/hills to the shores of Loch Fyne. Always a favourite trip, we had a good turnout of members and WAGs who enjoyed steam in the sun, a bit of birdwatching and, most of all, Christine's excellent lunch. Bob's workshop came in handy for fixing Dave W's sunglasses and then for running repairs on a barely run in Roundhouse Darjeeling B Class. We were amazed to discover that they still use BA bolts in Doncaster. Lunch aside the highlight of the day was the impeccable performance of our host's Brazil followed by the public debut of his newly completed Eric. The group were particularly impressed with Bob's choice of "Young's Improved Engine Green" as a livery. Apparently there is no substance to the rumours that this colour scheme is inspired by a Norwich City away kit. Pity that you couldn't be there Tom but we did enjoy your Birthday cake! | ||
