It has been suggested that a small replacement library be setup in the Strand Room of Millfield House.

Your Committee discussed this proposition at their December Meeting and came to the conclusion that it would be a better solution if arrangements were made for the mobile library to visit on a fixed day and at fixed time.  This would enable some assessment to be made of the possible demand in the area and for a regular change of book stock.  If the mobile library proves a success then we would support moves to create a permanent, bigger library at the Millfield complex.

The Committee considered that to allocate the Strand Room to a library would rob the area of one of the few large rooms available for community use.
