THE SKY AT NIGHT

The so-called Orionid Meteor Shower happens every October, but this year 2012, it was  most visible between Midnight and dawn on the 20th, 21st and 22nd. I was there to capture it on the 22nd from my back garden in Cadoxton.
The camera was left out for 2 hrs x 30sec exposures with an 18-55mm lens brought back to infinity and left on manul focus having focused auto prior to capturing the stars,  while I sat comfortably in the house, the 180 stills uploaded to a star trail programme showed the final image.
It was great fun taking the stars over Neath

The second photo shows star trails over the Brecons.  I achieved by composite photography taking the two subjects separately.
