It was a sad day for us today as well as for many others, on the occasion of the funeral of Miss Pat Jones. The service was beautiful and there were many poignant moments as we all paid our last respects.

To us Miss Jones was best known for her lovely Wellknowe Bearded Collies and her famous Cartmel Portuguese Water Dogs and we have been privileged to share our lives with four bitches bred by her, beginning with Beardie Paddy (Wellknowe Falling Leaves) who came to live with us in 1991. Later came Phoebe (Wellknowe Candle Light) and her younger half-sister Silver (Wellknowe Winter Winds) -whose memory lives on in her daughters Ruby and Jeannie and grand-daughter Honey. And of course there is still our little odd one out here at Talraz, Crystal the PWD......!      (see below)

However Pat also had vast knowledge and experience in many other breeds and indeed other animals, and always a story to tell, sometimes funny, sometimes sad, with a twist or a moral there to learn from - she was what is called A Character, and once met, never forgotten.

Her presence round the ring at the dog shows will be much missed.
