What a full weekend it has been, with so much to report!
On Saturday a team of five attended the North-East of England Working & Pastoral Breeds Open show where the judge was Ingela Sandstrom from Sweden (Kennel Beastly's) - thanks to Jacqui Young, at the ringside with her trusty camera, for a lovely set of photos
A very composed Beattie in the Puppy class, she took second prize
Despite looking the raw baby in the Junior class, Madge took third
Beautifully handled by young Kerry, Ellie took second in Limit
A happy Ruby with Kerry, third in the Open class
Our dear Meg won the Open class, with Ruby - handled by Kerry - coming in third. Finally, once the Best of Breed challenge had been completed (well done to Angie and Grace!) Madge (as an unbeaten puppy) was called back in to challenge, and to our delight picked up the Best Puppy in Breed award
After the judging for Best Puppy in Breed
The show ended on a high note when Madge went in to represent the Beardies in the pastoral group, and showed beautifully to take runner-up to the stunning Smooth Collie which was eventually Best In Show
After a quick burst of exercise in the chilly wind which gusted all day over the Newcastle Racecourse where the show was held, it was time to pack the team into the car and ferry them down to Scotch Corner on the A1 - and begin the next adventure of this busy weekend!
A totally different experience and very enjoyable.......see the next News story, to be added shortly!
