We had a nice relaxing long weekend recently, housesitting for Jackie and Bob, and caring for their various animals, birds and fish, while they had a break to attend the International Sheepdog Trials being held at Penrith.

All our dogs came with us - our own two pups and Bertie, who is here on his holidays - plus all the adults, and even Jessie who will be fourteen soon, thoroughly enjoyed the change of scenery, and all the different scents and places to walk.

For us the peaceful atmosphere was a wonderful tonic after a challenging few months, just what we needed. So many thanks to Jackie for her suggestion - and a promise to repeat the arrangement some other time.
