As mentioned elsewhere on our website, in line with our Natural Rearing philosophies, we do not favour the use of chemical wormers for our dogs/puppies.   With a steady stream of visitors coming through the door, we are being asked regularly - what DO you use?

The answer is, diatomaceous earth (food grade), which is a naturally-occuring white crumbly soil of fossil crustacean origin.  Stirred daily into the food, it sweeps the gut clean as it travels through the digestive tract.  Safe, gentle deworming - takes a little longer than the toxic drugs of course but NO side effects or scouring, and as a bonus DE contains many beneficial trace minerals.

A Google search will provide more information about DE for those who are interested - future puppy owners please take note!

In the UK supplies can be purchased via the web, we use this site www.BitlessBridle.co.uk though there are now other sources - just be aware that it is important to use Food Grade DE and not the coarser grade sold for use in swimming pool filters!
