Yesterday we attended the memorial service for Miss Pat Jones, held in the historic Priory in the centre of the beautiful village of Cartmel, which for so many years was the home of Miss Jones and the Wellknowe dogs, before the move to Amcotts near Goole in 1997. The service was very moving with some nice personal touches and well-loved hymns and readings.

Following the service her ashes were laid to rest in the peaceful and pretty cemetery overlooking Cartmel racecourse and perhaps half a mile from her former home on the hillside opposite.

It all seemed very fitting, we could almost hear her saying "That'll do.."
