Kept in the dark

In an enigmatic post on 16 July 2016 I referred to the Emperor's New Clothes and the fact that when we hear things from our politicians and our media they are not always as they seem. Last week I spotted that when the Red Prince, Stephen Kinnock was pushing to become Aberavon's Labour candidate for the 2015 General Election, there were several press reports criticising the education of his elder daughter in Denmark. These reports cited she was receiving private education there. Kinnock and his wife were anxious to try and put the record straight from their end because such reports could easily have had a negative effect on his ability to persuade Aberavon Labour members to vote for him. The private education of their own children by Labour politicians has often led to accusations of hypocrisy - what's fine for them cannot be afforded by those they represent. But it's become clear we did not get the whole story. Not by a long shot - and the voters of Aberavon were denied the full picture with regards to how the affluent Kinnocks had chosen to educate Johanna, their elder daughter.

I passed the story on to be told by my favourite Welsh blogger, Jac o' the North, who has a style of telling these things that I can only aspire to. It is linked to below:
