They came highly recommended

I see that Stephen Kinnock's Parliamentary Researcher has chucked it in and has recently joined the British Association of Social Workers as their Senior Parliamentary Affairs Officer.

Madeleine Jennings went to work for Boyo in mid-2015 but has now decided her career should take a different path. I wish her well in her new career which by the looks of her Twitter account, she has taken to with great enthusiasm.

I thought the name was familiar to me, because Madeleine was previously the Parliamentary Researcher for someone else we know, Peter Hain. So that's at least two of Hain's former staff who, having been laid off in late Spring 2015, then ended up working for the Man who Walked from Copenhagen (thanks to Jac o' the North for that unforgettable name). The other one is, of course, Cari Morgans, the Neath Port Talbot Councillor (Labour naturally) employed by Kinnock as Office Manager in his Aberavon office almost immediately after the General Election early in May 2015. I'd still love to know where Kinnock placed adverts for this post as set out under IPSA guidelines, as I wouldn't have minded throwing my hat into the ring. I bet the post was highly fought for though, and there were quite a few interviewed for it, so I very much doubt I'd have made the shortlist.

Clearly the work these two ladies did for Hain impressed young Kinnock enough to take them both on. Only, why didn't our own MP Christina Rees snap them up? Just a thought. Maybe it's a case of a new broom likes to sweep clean. Or maybe Ms Rees already had someone else in mind.

I'll be doing a follow-up to this piece of news because, as I've said, the name Madeleine Jennings was familiar to me. Watch this space.
