A decidedly fishy tale

There's been a lot of references to Goldie's fish on the pages of the Neath Ferret, with the fish allegedly providing a calming diversion for its owner.

I came across this rather fishy tale in the papers today:

Apparently this "brute" of a fish will charge at anything red.

So I am wondering if Goldie is actually speaking the whole truth about his beloved pet. Could this explain why the owner of the Alltwen goldfish now stands as an Independent on the Council instead of Labour. Has the fish gone for him in the past when he has been sporting his red tie or red rosette?

In my day a goldfish knew its place which was usually a short journey home from the fair in a plastic bag. If it survived it then spent the remainder of its life, usually measured in days, in a small, clear glass bowl swimming around in circles. Clearly these fish are evolving into something more sinister and I would be very wary about letting them into my home or even into my garden pond.
