Trust Snippets -w/e 30th November

Updates for you;

•The Trust wishes to convey its deepest sympathies to the family of the late John Angus MacKay. John’s funeral will be held tomorrow (Saturday) at 11am at Kilmore church.
• A donation has been received from the now defunct Skye Community Learning Group. The £313.13 cheque has been deposited into the Tormore Community Fund.
• An old functioning photocopier and toner has been freegled to the Broadford Moorings Association.
• Kirsten Laurie, Local Development Officer, South Islay Development has been in touch for further advice regarding their own project to buy a local petrol station.
• The cancelled Food and Drink night which was to be hosted in conjunction with Zero Waste Scotland will now be held in the New Year
• Tenders have now been received for all elements of the build work for the Tormore Wood fuel facility. James MacInnes’s local plant hire business has been chosen to carry out all ground works and roading for the development.
• UPM Tillhill have visited Tormore forest and met with staff as part of the tender process for Year 3 and 4 timber harvesting.
• Ten Trust directors and staff completed a HeartStart training course at Ardvasar Hall on Thursday. The Trust will look to co-ordinate a further course for community members next year.
• The media group met on Thursday to discuss all aspects of the next community newsletter. Please submit any articles by the deadline of the 7th of December for inclusion in our January edition.
• A broadband group meeting has been scheduled for the 10th of December.
